It is so hard to take in the news that David Preece passed away in the early hours of Friday 20 July.  Preecey was the best example of all that is good in football, always giving everything, and always with a smile.
 
He came to Luton from Walsall in 1984 and left for Derby County a decade later, winning 3 England "B" caps during that time.  In his ten years at the club, we reached 2 League Cup finals,3 FA Cup semi finals, a Full Members Cup final and our highest ever League placing.
 
He made 395 appearances for The Hatters, scoring 27 goals and will forever be remembered as a member of some of the best sides that ever represented Luton Town.
 
Our condolences go to his young family, and we trust that the football club will make some suitable commemoration.
