Trust in Luton Press Release
PLEDGE TOTAL SOARS
The Trust in Luton pledge scheme continues to flourish, with pledges now totalling almost £200,000 - and more is pouring in every day.
The scheme is for fans to show how much money they would have spent at the club - on tickets, merchandise or sponsorship - but won't be spending until the new owners answer fundamental questions about their plans for the club's future.
Trust chairman Tony Murray said:
"We want to thank all those fans who've pledged so far. It's a fantastic amount. But we know that there's a lot of other fans who share the concerns over the club at the moment who haven't yet filled in pledge forms.
"I want to stress to people that we're not asking people to sign cheques, or give money to us. We just want to show people how important fans are to the club's survival. People talk about big money in football, but the biggest amount any club gets is the money its fans put in, week in, week out."
Fans can pledge by getting a form from: any one of the eight Luton Borough Libraries or from the Arndale Centre Information Point downloaded from www.trustinluton.com, where there is also an e-mailable form.
Pledge forms are sent directly to an Independent Scrutineer, who is verifying the amounts promised, and is updating daily the running total on the Trust in Luton website.
Tony added:
"The more money we can get pledged, the more it's clear that whoever is running Luton Town will have to listen to the fans' voice if they want the fans' money."
