TiL "extremely disappointed"
Trust in Luton are extrememly disappointed that no reply has been received from the Luton Town chairman to our letter of 10 August, or our email of 24 August - reproduced below. We are now taking further action on behalf of TiL members and the supporter base as a whole. The contempt that the club is showing TiL - and don't forget we own 10% of LTFC Ltd - is there for all to see. We will be announcing further developments as and when they happen.
"David,
Liam Day writing from the Supporters Trust (TiL). Hope you're well.
Apologies for not establishing e-mail contact sooner.
I'm writing to request a meeting between club and Trust to clear the air on certain issues and with a view to establishing a solid working relationship between us both on an individual and an organisational level. Can I suggest an attendee list of me, a couple of others from the Trust board/committee, you and Andrew Dean?
You'll notice that I haven't suggested John Mitchell. This isn't anything personal against John, rather a request for a clean slate by re-starting/re-establishing things with the new regime.
I see the agenda including items such as:
1) Further explanantion of the LTFC-proposed supporters board, how you foresee the future of fans representation and fans' relationship with the club in general, including the board rep position
2) Us (TiL and LTFC) re-establishing our working relationship
3) A thorough run-down of what our remit and responsibilities are and how this impacts on the club
4) Explanation of our position on recent issues
5) General issues such as relocation, etc.
I'll happily prepare a more formal agenda in advance of any meeting that we can arrange.
Further to this, I understand that some club representatives were frustrated about the letter that I sent to you re opening up the club accounts (with particular regard to the timing of this letter being made publicly available). I'd like to also discuss this in person but just to say that we did leave it 7 days between sending the letter in the post and publicly making it available on our website and that the timing of this was NOT designed for anything other than to inform the fan base what we had done. I assumed that the postal services were operating efficiently and that this was an appropriate gap. We have a duty to inform our membership on what we're doing, that we're listening to their concerns and acting upon them. I'm very keen to explain this in detail when we meet.
Hope we can sort something out. Feel free to send me some dates/times and our representation can fit around that.
Regards
Liam Day
