RELIVE THE ROAD TO WEMBLEY – 20 YEARS ON
LTFC2020 Announces Charity Fun Day for 10th May
For football fans that want to relive the road to Wembley in 1988, Luton Town Football Club is opening its doors on Saturday 10th May to welcome fans to a fun filled day that will see the 1988 Luton team play against an Arsenal pro-celebrity team.
As promised, LTFC2020 are bringing the good times back to the club by welcoming fans to cheer on their team and join in a host of activities that will be running throughout the day. All proceeds will go to the charities of the original team members who have sadly passed away since 1988.
Steve Foster will be leading the Luton Legends to the pitch where the likes of Brian Stein and Danny Wilson will be trying to recreate the triumphant goals that they scored in 1988, whilst the Arsenal pro-celebrity team will be battling for pride. Mick Harford will also be swapping his role as the current club manager and putting his boots back on to join the Luton Legends.
Gary Sweet, director of LTFC2020 said, “May 10th is set to be a fantastic fun day for everyone, whether or not they were fortunate enough to have witnessed one of the greatest Wembley finals. We wanted to give something back to our fans that have given us so much support over the past few months, and what better way to achieve this than to relive one of the greatest occasions in the club’s history and to remember those legends who are no longer with us. We have had an overwhelming response from those involved in the day, so we would encourage people to buy their tickets early.”
With doors opening at 1.00pm, the concourse will be packed with family fun and games. Competitions will also be held throughout the day including a Crossbar Challenge before kick off and at half time. Other famous football figures will also be attending, so keep your eyes peeled!
Tickets will be available from the Luton Town Football Club box office and further details on retailing outlets selling tickets around the region will be released shortly.
