Trust in Luton Press Release
COMMITTEE ASK FOR PLEDGES
Following on from the Committee's request that people withhold their money from Luton Town FC, today sees the launch of a Pledge scheme.
Season ticket holders, kit sponsors, corporate sponsors, executive box holders, Junior Hatters members and those who attend the Community Coaching Courses are all asked to fill in a form with their name, address, membership/season ticket number (if applicable) and the amount they pledge to put into the Club as soon as the ownership issues are resolved to the satisfaction of the Trust members (ie everyone who has filled in a Trust membership form, not just the Committee). This form can be downloaded from www.trustinluton.com, or a form can be requested by e-mailing pledge@trustinluton.com. Once the pledge form has been filled in, it can be returned to the Trust Committee via its mailing address c/o the Luton News, Media House, 39 Upper George Street, Luton LU1 2RD (which is also the address for completed Trust membership application forms), or faxed back to us on 0871 433 2242.
The Committee would like to make clear that they are not asking for people to send this money to the Trust. Effectively the pledge is just a declaration of how much one would normally put into the Club by way of season tickets or other sponsorships; it is purely a means of demonstrating one's intent to invest in the Club as usual when the circumstances are right. It will send a clear message to the current owners of the Club that the fans, sponsors and investors are out there, but they are not prepared to give their money with the situation as it stands.
The amount pledged will be tallied and verified by an independent accountant, and the Trust committee will be keeping everyone informed of the running total via the website.
The Trust Committee would like to thank every single Luton fan for their support during these difficult and frustrating times; the show of solidarity is heartening.
